My username is wFinity. I am getting a “Permission denied” error when trying to run mysql commands, and the /etc/init.d/mysqld script does not exist.
Could you please enable MySQL access for my account?

You need to have lab access for that. I enabled access for your account, please do lab start and follow again MySQL tutorial from lab.
